BIG FEELINGS
gOLDIE’S NEW FRIEND NOVA
beginning of a cancer journey
In this first Super Scrubbles book, Goldie learns she has cancer and discovers she doesn’t need to face it alone.
Children everywhere are being affected by cancer. They are watching their brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, and friends fight this horrible disease. This year, 11,050 children under the age of 14 (American Cancer Society) will be diagnosed with cancer and tens of thousands more will continue their fight of this disgusting disease.
Big Feelings.
Often times, children are thrown right into the cancer world with so many questions, worries, anger, fear and sadness. How do you explain this world to a child when the journey is so unknown? How do you empower children to have a voice and share through this scary time? How do you support all children to take action?
Large Imaginations.
Super Scrubbles is a place where imagination helps explain the unexplainable. We created Super Scrubbles for children who are facing medical experience, and for the families trying to find the right words when real life feels overwhelming. Medical conversations can be confusing. They can be scary. For kids, they often raise more questions than answers. Super Scrubbles exists to meet children exactly where they are, using stories instead of fear and characters instead of complicated explanations.
Shared Journeys.
Together we can build Super Scrubbles into more than what we see right here today. All proceeds of every purchase from our store will go directly to childhood cancer organizations, and into funding more Super Scrubbles content.
Super Scrubbles:
lARGE IMAGINATIONS
Super Scrubbles uses picture books and concept style animation art to share the experiences of childhood cancer. Just like a storyboard, a diagnosis is merely one sequence in a much larger journey. Our early sketches serve as blueprints of hope for the resilient kids we feature, whose most important scenes are still waiting to be drawn. Join us from the very first frame to help build this world and grow our community.
Super Scrubbles believes in the power of the imagination, resilience, and community. That is why we are incredibly proud to announce the launch of our new pediatric cancer awareness campaign:
Stand Golden.
Shared Journeys
The name "Stand Golden" is a tribute to two things close to our hearts: the color gold, which is the official awareness color for childhood cancer, and our resilient character, Goldie. This campaign is a call to action for allies everywhere to stand up, show their support, and stand golden with children who are fighting cancer.
The Inspiration Behind the Wristband. As part of this campaign, we are launching a special edition Super Scrubbles sweat wristband, inspired directly by Goldie’s own story.
In an upcoming storyboard, Goldie takes a small but profoundly empowering step. We watch as she removes her standard hospital patient bracelet, carefully places it into a scrapbook, and replaces it with a sporty sweat wristband stitched with the letter "G". For Goldie, this isn't just an accessory, but her way of reclaiming her identity. It is a powerful symbol of having a say in her own cancer journey.
Play Defeats Cancer. Now, we are inviting you to wear your own wristband in solidarity with Goldie and the resilient children fighting cancer that she represents. This wristband does more than just show support—it creates real, tangible joy.
100% of the profits from the sale of our Stand Golden wristbands will go directly to the ROC Solid Foundation.
Our specific goal is to raise $2,500 to fully fund the building of an at-home playset for a child currently fighting cancer. For a child going through treatment, a backyard playset is more than just a toy; it is a safe haven, a reason to smile, and a place where they can just be a kid again.
Join Us By purchasing a wristband, you are helping a child reclaim their playtime, just like Goldie reclaimed her journey.
